    Дисертація присвячена комплексному дослідженню діяльності видатного українського землезнавця й плодівника С.С. Рубіна (1900-1985рр.). Для поглибленого історико-аналітичного дослідження визначено основні періоди діяльності вченого. У роботі розкрито умови формування наукового світогляду вченого. Проаналізовано його організаційну, науково-дослідницьку, викладацьку діяльність. Досліджено громадську роботу і просвітницько-популяризаторську діяльність. З’ясовано основні напрями його наукових досліджень. Відтворення цілісної картини діяльності С.С. Рубіна дало змогу зробити висновок про його вагомий внесок у розвиток науки, історії науки, культури України. The dissertation is devoted to a complex research of the activity of an outstanding researcher in soil science and fruit growing S.S. Rubin (1900 – 1985). To do the in-depth historical and analytical research the main periods in the scientist’s activity were determined. The conditions of formation of the scientific outlook of the scientist were highlighted. His organizational, scientific-research and teaching activity was analyzed. Selfless social and educational activity was analyzed. Main directions of his scientific research were elucidated. The reproduction of an integral picture of the activity of S.S. Rubin made it possible to draw conclusions about his considerable contribution into the development of science, history of science and culture of Ukraine.
